This house is ideally suited to a large family but could
easily be converted into two separate accomodations or into a
Gîte. The interior has been extensively renovated in two stages.
The house was at one time divided into two halves, one of which was
left to fall into ruin. This half has been totally renewed with new
floors, walls, ceilings, windows, wiring etc, whist at the same time
taking care to preserve the original style of the house. New windows
were made to match the old ones and the old beams, after being treated,
were put back. Externally little has been done and the house would benefit from having the 'facade' redone. This could either be done in the original style, with lime based rendering or be taken back to the stone and pointed. The garage still has the original dirt floor and would also benefit from being concreted. The two factors have been taken into account in the price and the house has been very reasonably priced. (The house next door, which is approx the same size is currently on the market at 300 000 euros).

| Paziols is a village of 600 inhabitants in the heart of the Corbières vine-growing region of southern France. It is situated at the foot of Mont Tauch (917m), is surrounded by vineyards and has many attractions. In the summer you can swim in the nearby river or at the swimming pool at the "Perrière" campsite 2.5km away. Paziols is very well served by tracks and footpaths which wind their way through hills and mountains covered in wild flowers, thyme, rosemary and other aromatic plants, making it a mountain-biker's or walker's paradise. There is a well-stocked general store in the village selling fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat, dried goods, drinks, and household items, with fresh bread delivered three times a day. There are hypermarkets at Perpignan and Narbonne, the nearest being Carrefour at about 40 minutes drive. |
